Research Assistant

Become a research assistant at the Institute for Electrical Machines at the RWTH Aachen University and work with us to shape groundbreaking research and innovation in the field of electrical machines as part of your doctorate.

We are a worldwide leading and recognized research institute specializing in electromagnetic energy conversion and drive technology. We collaborate with well-known partners in a variety of publicly and industrially funded research projects. These close contacts in the fields of industrial application, the automotive industry and regenerative energy production ensure the up-to-dateness and interdisciplinary application of our research. In addition, promising basic topics are explored. Our team-oriented working style gives you the freedom you need for scientific work with a high degree of motivation, personal responsibility and creativity in a young team.

We are always looking for research assistants with a committed personality and independent working methods, who are enthusiastic about the doctorate and about the independent co-operation in the planning, implementation and presentation of research projects and the participation in university teaching. In addition to a degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, materials engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or similar fields, which you have excellently completed, we expect a high degree of self-reliance, dedication, personal initiative and personal resilience to stress. Furthermore, you should be self-assured and bring strong communication and team skills. A basic requirement is also the proficiency in German and English language.

Student Assistant (HiWi)

As part of a student assistant activity, you can supplement your theoretical studies with practical experience, gain insights into institute's life and the course of research projects with industry partners, support research assistants in research and establish contacts with other students, academic staff and industrial partners. We are continually looking for student assistants from a wide variety of disciplines and are happy if you take the initiative for an application!
