On June 13, the Steel Innovation Award was presented for the eleventh time in the presence of Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier at the "Berlin Steel Dialogue". This year's 561 contributions to the Steel Innovation Award include the research group "FOR 1897 - Low-loss electric sheets for energy-efficient drives" in the "Steel in Research and Development" category among the ten best contributions. The documentation is available for download.
The aim of the research group is to close existing research gaps, to systematically describe the process-related influencing factors on the material properties of highly-etched FeSi electrical sheets and to develop a continuous process and property model. The validation of the models is based on a continuous experimental process chain, which is set up by the participating research institutions.
